The Directorate General of Science and Technology hosted KP’s first Natural Resources convention to leverage the power of science and technology for uplifting scientific interventions in eight key natural resource areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including gemstones, bees, and honey, fisheries, herbs and biodiversity, Micro-Hydro Power, Fruits and Vegetables, archaeology, and urban environments.
The convention called for action relevant key stakeholders and experts from academia, industry, policy circles, and the development sector and spurred dialogue between them by addressing key challenges in the natural resource areas to propose a useful framework for KP natural resource management and conflict resolution.
As a result of the convention, each of the working groups efficiently participated by identifying key challenges and providing policy recommendations in key natural resource areas of the province.
The convention was attended by various Government Dignitaries and representatives from Science and Technology sector including Secretary Science and Technology & Information Technology Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Matiullah Khan, Director General of Science and Technology Sajjid Hussain Shah, Advisor to Minister Atif Khan on Science and Technology Dr. Faisal Khan, Managing Director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board – KPITB Dr. Ali Mahmud.
